There is an ice cream in Croatia named Cedevita, that my kids adore. Since I love to find healthy variations for every meal, here is a copycat sugar-free orange popsicle ice cream recipe your kids will fall in love with. It’s simple to prepare, healthy, and a delicious meal for picky eaters.
Sugar and Atopic Dermatitis
As I already mentioned earlier my older is the fussiest eater on this planet, lol. She has atopic dermatitis, and the doctor said she should avoid all candies and gummies. Sugars, various additives, dyes, and flavor enhancers especially intensify the allergy symptoms that manifest on the skin. Dry itchy skin, sleepless nights, marks on her body, and all that goes with it… Only a parent in the same situation can understand what am I talking about.
Refined-rich food triggers atopic dermatitis. It increases insulin levels and flares up the body and worsens the symptoms.
For all those reasons I found a healthy version of a homemade sugar-free orange popsicle, your kids will love.
INGREDIENTS
- for 5 little popsicles
- CARROT – helps with kids’ constipation, and improves vision. They are packed with vitamin A and beta-carotene. Vitamin A is vital for kids’ vision as it forms a protein that absorbs light in the eye.
- Apple benefits for kids – APPLES boost kids’ health with Vitamins C, A, B1, B2 & B6, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, and potassium. They are great for kids’ bowel systems, and teeth and work great as an energy booster.
- PEACHES reduce allergies by preventing the release of histamines in the blood! Well, how about that?!
- Squeezed ORANGE juice – Did you know that only one orange has a 90% daily intake requirement of vitamin C for kids? Oranges are a great source of minerals – calcium, iron, zinc, manganese, magnesium, and copper. Alleviates Mumps – Fresh orange juices help kids get rid of the discomfort resulting from mumps quickly.
- COCONUT OIL -is packed with anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal nutrient lauric acid. so it boosts kids’ immune systems. Some research says it is beneficial for hypothyroidism.
DIRECTIONS
- Place all the ingredients into a blender and mix well
- If you think it is too thick, feel free to add some water
- Place the liquid into popsicle molds (try to use silicone BPA-free ones)
- Freeze overnight
- Serve the next day to your kids, or even yourself if you wish, it’s delicious!
EQUIPMENT NEEDED
To make a super tasty, smooth, creamy, and well-blended fruit popsicle you need an excellent blender. My favorite is the Nutribullet food processor. It’s small, strong, and simple to maintain! Perfect for a busy mom, trust me!
So, get busy and make this delicious, healthy, and sugar-free orange popsicle for your kid… There is no big fuss with this recipe, keep it simple, it really doesn’t need any changes or variations, it’s perfect as it is.
Mom and Dad can try one too if the kids allow it 😉
